At Dorset Pet Scan, our aim is to make the whole process of carrying out a Pregnancy Scan on your pet, as worry and stress free as possible.

Scans are non invasive and are carried out by applying gel to your pets abdomen, then using an external probe, scanning their stomach to see if there is a visible pregnancy. This causes no harm or discomfort to your pet or to any unborn foetuses.

We are unable to confirm numbers exactly as many factors can affect pregnancies, such as reabsorption, however, a rough estimate and estimated due date will be given after the scan images have been looked at by our technician. If needed, we are always willing to re-scan at your request. We also freeze pictures and record cine loops of the scans as they are done which can then sent to you, giving you a record of the scan undertaken.

The whole process can take between 30 and 45 minutes, sometimes a little longer.

We use the most recent Scan Pad V2, operated by our fully trained and qualified specialist and the utmost care is taken to make this a pleasant and worry free experience for both you and your pet.
